Go Beyond's CEO Elected President Board Emeritus of EBAN

Brigitte Baumann, Go Beyond's CEO and Founder was yesterday unanimously elected as EBAN's (The European Trade Association for Business Angels, Seed Funds, and other Early Stage Market Players) President of the Board Emeritus by its newly elected Board.

Brigitte has been a member of EBAN's board since 2004, spending 8 years as Member of the Executive Committee and 3 as President of the Board (Chairman).

European Tech Tour in France

For the first time in its history, the European Tech Tour is organising one of its events in France and the Benelux, from 9 - 11 May.

The Tech Tour aims to identify the 25 most promising companies looking for seed to expansion capital in the target countries and will gather together the most active venture capital funds, which collectively manage over €10 billion in the region.

Go Beyond CEO, Brigitte Baumann, is a member of the Selection Committee for this European Tech Tour France and Benelux, and has participated in the selection of these 25 finalists.

UK Budget Announcement 2012

On the back of yesterday’s UK budget announcement, Anthony Clarke, BBAA Chairman, advised:

"The BBAA welcomes the announcements by the Chancellor yesterday, notably, confirming the introduction of the Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme, enabling angel investors to invest up to £100k per year in qualifying seed stage businesses and also increasing the limit of the existing EIS scheme to enable investment for individuals will be increased to £1 million and the annual investment limit for qualifying companies extended to £5 million per year.

Angel Investing: Women With Wings

Brigitte Baumann, Go Beyond CEO and Founder and Angel Investing expert, was invited to speak at the 1st Women's Luncheon for 2012 hosted by Swiss Finance Institute Alumni Association, on 15 March 2012 in Zurich.

This event was attended by over 45 women in finance and banking sectors, as well as non-alumni.

Lisa Sennhauser-Kelly, Managing Director at UBS and Member of the Swiss Finance Institute Association Alumni Board, described the afternoon as "fascinating to have an insight into Angel Investing brought to us by a very competent and talented expert".

There are even fewer women investing in early-stage companies. Not that they lack the smarts or the courage to start a business; we all have experienced these qualities in many women in our lives. The difficult choices needed to balance family life and a career, as wells as the limited vocations in the scientific field, are the most common explanations.
