Hey there! Misha here. If you‘ve been following me for a while, you know I‘m all about looking and feeling my best. I love trying out the latest fashion and beauty trends. But I‘m also passionate about health and wellness. I firmly believe looking good on the outside starts from within.
That‘s why I was intrigued when I started hearing buzz about two new-ish weight loss programs, Calibrate and Found. Both take a more holistic approach that combines medication, 1:1 coaching, and lifestyle changes to help you shed pounds and keep them off.
As someone who‘s tried my fair share of diets over the years, I was curious to see how these programs stacked up. So I decided to give them each a try for myself! I‘ll give you the full scoop on my experience. But first, let‘s break down the basics of how Calibrate and Found work.
Calibrate vs Found: TL;DR
Okay, I know not everyone loves a deep dive review like I do. So here‘s the high-level summary of how Calibrate and Found compare:
Feature | Calibrate | Found |
---|---|---|
Program length | 1 year | Month-to-month |
Medication | Required, brand name GLP-1 | Optional generic GLP-1 or other Rx |
Coaching | 30-45 min video check-ins 2x/month | Unlimited in-app messaging |
Behavior change | Food, exercise, sleep, emotional health | Nutrition, movement, sleep, stress |
Pricing | $138/month ($1649 1-yr) + $25/mo meds | $99/mo Wellness Path, $149/mo Rx Path |
Availability | All 50 states | 31 states for Rx Path |
In a nutshell, Calibrate is pricier but super comprehensive with required meds and video coaching sessions. Found is more flexible, with month-to-month plans and optional generic meds.
Both leverage the latest weight loss drugs (GLP-1s like semaglutide/Wegovy, liraglutide/Saxenda, tirzepatide/Mounjaro) along with coaching to help you make sustainable lifestyle changes. The goal isn‘t rapid weight loss, but slow and steady progress you can maintain long-term.
My Calibrate Experience
I started my Calibrate journey with high hopes (and, honestly, a bit of sticker shock at the price tag). But I was ready to invest in my health. The sign-up process was easy. I filled out a brief health assessment, picked a coach, and scheduled my first doctor‘s appointment—all virtually, of course.
At my Calibrate doctor visit, we went over my health history, weight loss goals, and medication options. Based on my BMI and other factors, my doctor prescribed me Wegovy (semaglutide). I was a bit hesitant about taking medication. But he explained how the GLP-1 drugs work to regulate appetite and blood sugar to complement lifestyle changes.
I really liked my bi-weekly video coaching sessions. My coach Jenna was so supportive and knowledgeable. We set realistic goals around nutrition, exercise, stress management, and sleep. She helped me work through challenges as they popped up. And she celebrated every win, on the scale and off.
The Calibrate app made it easy to track my progress, log meals and workouts, and review educational content. Did I mention they also send you a free smart scale and Fitbit? Talk about major accountability!
I‘ll be real, the first few weeks on meds were an adjustment. I had some nausea and digestive issues. But Jenna assured me that was normal and temporary. She was right. After about a month I started noticing my appetite was way more manageable. I wasn‘t thinking about food 24/7.
With Jenna‘s guidance, I started making small tweaks to my lifestyle. More protein and fiber, less processed junk. Daily walks outside. A consistent sleep schedule. More mindfulness and self-care. By 6 months in, I was down 30 lbs—about 15% of my body weight. But more importantly, I FELT so much better. More energy, clearer skin, less anxiety.
It wasn‘t always a straight line of progress. I had weeks where I plateaued or even gained a pound or two. But Jenna helped me zoom out and focus on the big picture. By my one-year Calibrate-versary, I was down 50 lbs total. I know I‘ve made changes I can sustain for the long haul.
So, was Calibrate worth the money? For me, 100% yes. Having that consistent support and medical oversight was game-changing. It‘s on the pricey side, but considering it includes doctor‘s visits, labs, coaching, an app, and devices, you get a lot for your money.
It may not be for everyone. But if you‘re ready to invest in your health, have at least 15-20 lbs to lose, and want the most hands-on support, I highly recommend Calibrate. Just know it‘s a big commitment—there‘s no quitting halfway through if you‘ve paid for the year!
My Found Experience
About a year after completing Calibrate, I heard about Found and was curious to compare. Their vibe is similar—science-backed meds plus coaching to address root causes of weight gain. But their model is more flexible. You can pay month-to-month and choose whether or not to include prescription meds.
I decided to sign up for Found‘s "Wellness Path" coaching-only plan for $99/month. The assessment was quick and easy. From there, I got matched with my coach Anna and could start messaging her instantly via the Found app. I liked that the program felt very individualized to my goals, preferences, and lifestyle.
I noticed a few differences compared to Calibrate. Coaching happened via in-app text vs video. That felt a bit less personal. But I did like being able to shoot Anna a quick message any time vs waiting for our scheduled session. She always got back to me within a day, often within a few hours.
The Found app has a lot of the same helpful features as Calibrate—food and mood logging, lessons, goal setting, etc. One thing I found (pun intended) interesting was their focus on improving your "health numbers" beyond just weight. Things like resting heart rate, average sleep, steps per day, and even lab markers like blood sugar and cholesterol.
Found‘s nutrition philosophy emphasizes whole foods, fiber, healthy fats, and lean proteins to balance hunger hormones and stabilize blood sugar. But it didn‘t feel like a rigid "eat this, not that" plan. More so building a healthy relationship with food. Anna helped me get creative with cooking more veggie-packed meals and navigating social situations.
Since I went with the coaching-only plan, I can‘t personally speak to Found‘s prescriptions. But from what I‘ve read, most people are prescribed a generic form of semaglutide or other GLP-1 with pricing included in their $149/month Rx membership.
One cool thing about Found is the community aspect. In addition to 1:1 coaching, there are member-led support groups, challenges, and an active Facebook group to connect with others on a similar journey. This wasn‘t something I took much advantage of. But I could see it being valuable for folks who thrive on social support and accountability!
After 3 months on Found, I was down about 10 lbs. Nothing drastic. But I felt really in tune with my body and in control of my choices. The habits I built with Calibrate were definitely still benefiting me. But Found gave me that extra layer of daily support to stay on track.
All in all, I think Found is a solid choice if you‘re looking for a program that‘s a bit more budget-friendly and flexible than Calibrate. I didn‘t quite get the same dramatic results (likely because I didn‘t go with medication). But the coaches are top-notch and the community support is great.
Calibrate vs Found: The Verdict
So, which would I choose if I could only pick one program? It‘s really a toss up. Both are grounded in science and take a refreshingly holistic approach to weight loss. I don‘t think you can go wrong with either based on my experience!
If I had to choose, I‘d probably give a slight edge to Calibrate IF you can afford it and are ready for a big commitment. I personally got the most dramatic, lasting results with their combination of GLP-1 meds, intensive coaching, and the accountability of regular video check-ins.
But if you‘re on a tighter budget, not quite ready for medication, or want more flexibility, Found is a fantastic choice. I loved being able to message my coach anytime and their community support is unmatched.
Whichever route you go, know that lasting weight loss IS possible with the right support and a focus on sustainable healthy habits vs crash diets. I‘m grateful to both Calibrate and Found for helping me get (and keep!) my sparkle back.
I‘ll wrap up with a few of my key takeaways:
- Look for a science-backed program that addresses weight loss from multiple angles (food, exercise, sleep, stress, meds if needed) vs a quick fix
- A skilled, compassionate coach is everything on a weight loss journey—choose a program that makes support a priority
- Losing 10-15% of your body weight (a goal of both programs) can have a huge impact on health markers like blood sugar, cholesterol, and inflammation
- Medication can be a valuable tool for appetite and craving control, but works best paired with lifestyle changes
- The "best" program is the one you can stick with long-term—so consider your budget, preferences, and readiness for change
Hope this deep dive into my experience with Calibrate and Found was helpful to anyone considering these programs! Feel free to DM me with any other Qs. Always happy to chat more about all things wellness (and of course, fashion!).
